2019-20 Wrap Up

After a tumultuous time throughout the globe, I can now sit and write about the last chunk of work I’ve done.

Now seems like a good moment as our second baby turns one and change is afoot. We’re all moving towards something looking more normal.

Of course it wouldn’t be possible to mention 2020 without Covid-19. I’ve been extremely lucky to have been on maternity leave and carrying on my work with the brilliant mjf. Back to being a teacher, albeit to a class of one frustrated child, for a short spurt and numerous hurdles overcome. This last year has been a whirlwind!

Manchester Jazz Festival

Working as Talent Development Associate for Manchester Jazz Festival. I ran hothouse, a programme for jazz musicians based in the North of England. hothouse is a safe place to develop a new music idea with professional support. It is also a transformative learning experience unmatched by any other talent development opportunity. It is targeted at those currently under-represented in the jazz sector, and aspires to diversify the artist base creating new jazz music.

Sand House

Following the success of Sand House by Peter Spafford, I continued my work with the Sand House Charity to help secure funding and remount the show late 2020. Of course these plans went swiftly out the window, and are now on hold.
